Charlotte BOUDAUD (Alumni'19)
Marketing & Communication Manager - CLR HOTELS

3 words that sum up your student years?

TEAM - SURPASSING ONESELF - SHARING

How did you get started?

After a 6-month end-of-studies internship as a Customer Experience Assistant in the Accor Group (attached to the Hotel Marketing department for the 3 Ibis brands), I started my career on a permanent contract, staying with the same Accor team, as Ibis Brand Marketing Project Manager. This experience lasted 2 and a half years, during which I was able to discover the power of a major hotel group, the richness of the city of Paris, and work on some very interesting projects.

A turning point in your career?

During the COVID period, I had to work part-time for a year, telecommuting, without being able to see my colleagues. A different work organization, and not an easy one to manage every day!

What's your greatest achievement?

In September 2023, I was lucky enough to be promoted to Marketing and Communications Manager at the CLR Hôtels head office in La Rochelle.

What are your current missions and position?

Today, I'm Marketing & Communications Manager for the CLR Hôtels group (part of CGR Cinémas), which comprises the following establishments in France:
- 16 eco and premium hotels (Ibis, Ibis Styles, Mercure, MGallery, Best Western, Kyriad, Première Classe...)
- 2 restaurants including the Grande Terrasse restaurant le Gaya - Pierre Gagnaire
- 7 Burger King
- 1 Thalasso
- 2 NUXE Spas

My missions are as follows:

- Communication: management of comm supports, social media campaigns, production of supports (videos, brochures...)
- Deployment of sales tools, creation of offers, improvement of the customer experience...
- Sales: organization of and participation in trade-show-type events to ensure CLR Hôtels' presence in the regional and national tourism landscape.
- Close liaison with brand marketing departments and implementation of marketing actions (Accor, Burger King, NUXE...)

What does World Tourism Day mean to you?

In my opinion, World Tourism Day is an opportunity to highlight one of the most important economic sectors for France and many other countries. Travelling is a wonderful thing, but this day also serves to highlight changes in the tourism industry, and to remind us of the behaviours we need to adopt, with a view to respecting the ecological transition, for example, and ensuring that this sector prospers as much as possible.

What inspires you at the moment?

Far more authentic travel experiences, in lodgings, in vans, meeting people, close to nature, far from "5-star all-inclusive resorts."

The essential app for your daily life?

Instagram

Which book made the biggest impression on you?

"Changer l'eau des fleurs" by Valérie Perrin.

What gets you up in the morning?

A ray of sunshine, an exciting work project, a departure for another destination...

What advice would you have liked to have received at the end of your studies?

Don't be afraid to take the time to do as many things as possible (Erasmus, volunteering, student jobs). Studies are all about exploring, gaining experience and discovering yourself so you can get off to a better start in your professional career!

If you'd had an Aladdin lamp during your studies, what would have been your top 3 wishes?

HUMANITARIAN - ERASMUS - ASSOCIATION

A final word?

My studies at Excelia are a wonderful memory, where I was able to learn as much as possible to prepare for the future and cross paths with people who taught me a great deal.
